A Year from Now…You’ll Be Here
By Bree Pagliuso|
In Geelong and The Bellarine, there is something for every kind of experience. Mornings might start with a walk along the waterfront or a quiet coffee in a historic laneway. Afternoons bring the chance to explore neighbourhood galleries and evenings often end with good food shared among friends. Our region is alive with creativity, community and a spirit of discovery, where every visit feels grounded in something real.
A place where gathering and storytelling have been part of life for generations, and where they’ll continue, in new ways, when our venue opens.
In just one year, something new will join this rich tapestry. Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre will open its doors as a place the region has been waiting for. A venue designed to bring people together, inspire fresh perspectives and celebrate everything that makes this part of Victoria so special.
Designed for experiences
From the earliest conversations, our venue has been shaped by a commitment to service, sustainability and thoughtful design.
Every part of Nyaal Banyul has been guided by Universal Design principles to create an inclusive, accessible environment for all. Event spaces feature at-grade entrances, push-button opening doors, augmented hearing assistance and high-contrast wayfinding. Wala Mirr Theatre offers accessible seating at multiple heights, while a Changing Places facility, all-gender bathrooms and a calming sensory room ensure everyone feels welcome and supported.
Sustainability is threaded into every layer. Locally sourced materials, efficient building systems and the maximisation of natural light and ventilation all contribute to a reduced environmental impact. For event organisers, energy-efficient infrastructure and clear waste streams make it easier to run low-impact events without compromising on quality.
Technology here is future-ready. You’ll have access to intelligent lighting, full-scale AV production, seamless connectivity and support from a team with decades of experience delivering events that leave a lasting impression.
And with a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen on-site, our food and beverage offerings are designed to reflect the region: innovative, seasonal and full of local flavour.
A place for connection
Opening in July 2026, Nyaal Banyul will be ready to host everything from conferences and gala dinners to cocktail events , exhibitions and community events that leave a lasting impression.
We bring together architecture, technology, service and sustainability in a way that feels deeply connected to Geelong. Every gathering here is shaped by our respect for the land, the warmth of our community and the stories that have defined this region for generations.
